Airbus A350 General Familiarization Course Overview
This General Familiarization course offers a comprehensive overview of the Airbus A350, featuring the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, as detailed in the Systems Description section of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM). Designed for new Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs), this course serves as an excellent resource for training in both base and line operations, as well as for review or interview preparation for those seeking employment in the aviation industry.

- Familiarize yourself with critical maintenance practices for the airframe and its systems.
- Grasp the general layout of the aircraft’s major systems.
- Comprehend the structure and characteristics of the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB powerplant.
- Identify the specialized tooling and test equipment used with the A350.
Each course is aligned with ATA 104 and EASA Part 66 Level 1+ standards, utilizing PowerPoint-style presentations organized into ATA chapters. After completing each section, a quiz helps reinforce learning. Upon successful completion of all sections, a personalized, serial-numbered certificate will be issued.
Course Duration
The course typically takes 40 hours to complete, although the time required may vary depending on the participant’s experience and study habits. You will have one year to complete and review the course from the time you begin.

Inspection Authorization (IA) Renewal Credit
This course (FAA ALC-1122) qualifies for 8 hours of IA Renewal Credit. If you hold an Inspection Authorization (IA), completing this course will fulfill your annual recurrent training requirements. Upon completion, ATB will submit your credits to the FAA, and a printable IA certificate will be available via FAAsafety.gov.
FAAST AMT Award Points
Additionally, this course qualifies for 40 FAA FAAST AMT Award Points, which you will receive upon completion. To claim this award, you need to be a registered member of the FAA Safety Team (FAAST). You can register for free at faasafety.gov.
